ANCL BOOK LAUNCH

We are delighted to announce the publication of the first ANCL Book.

 

"Fostering Constitutionalism in Africa" is edited by Charles Fombad and Christina Murray and published by Pretoria University Law Press in English and in French.

 

This volume comprises a small selection of papers first presented at the 2007 African Network of Constitutional Lawyers’ conference in Nairobi. With contributions from Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Zambia, Malawi and the DRC, they cross the legal and language divides in Africa. Each paper raises issues that concern all Africans committed to good governance and human rights. They provide thought-provoking discussions of constitutional change and maintaining constitutional stability; ways of controlling the power of the executive; and who should control prosecutions, the executive or an independent body. They identify many challenges and try to chart new directions for the entrenchment of constitutionalism on the continent.

Nous sommes heureux d'annoncer la publication du premier livre RADC.
"Favoriser le constitutionnalisme en AfriqueEst édité par Charles Fombad et Christina Murray et publié par Pretoria University Press, en Francaise et en Anglaise
Ce volume comprend une petite sélection des premiers documents présentés à la conférence de 2007 RADC à Nairobi. Avec les contributions de la Côte d'Ivoire, le Nigeria, la Zambie, le Malawi et la RDC, ils traversent les clivages juridiques et linguistiques en Afrique. Chaque document soulève des questions qui concernent tous les Africains engagés à la bonne gouvernance et droits de l'homme. Ils fournissent des discussions réflexion d'un changement constitutionnel et le maintien de la stabilité constitutionnelle, les moyens de contrôler le pouvoir de l'exécutif, et qui devrait contrôler les poursuites, l'exécutif ou d'un organisme indépendant. Ils identifient les nombreux défis et d'essayer de tracer de nouvelles orientations pour l'enracinement du constitutionnalisme sur le continent.

"Constitucionalismo Promoção em África"É editado por Charles Murray e Fombad Christina e publicado pela Imprensa da Universidade de Pretória em Inglês e Francês.
Este volume é composto por uma pequena seleção de trabalhos apresentados pela primeira vez na conferência RAJC de 2007, em Nairobi. Com contribuições de Costa do Marfim, Nigéria, Zâmbia, Malawi e República Democrática do Congo, que atravessam as divisões linguísticas e jurídicas, na África. Cada artigo levanta questões que dizem respeito a todos os africanos comprometidos com a boa governação e direitos humanos. Eles fornecem discussões instigantes de mudança constitucional e manter a estabilidade constitucional; maneiras de controlar o poder do executivo, e quem deve controlar os processos, o executivo ou por um organismo independente. Eles identificam muitos desafios e tentar traçar novos rumos para o aprofundamento do constitucionalismo no continente.
